Bluetooth technology allows for wireless transmission of voice or data between compatible devices. This means you can talk on the phone without tangled wires being in your way or transfer data wirelessly. GPRS provides fast internet access for mobile phones allowing you to spend less time waiting to download games and ringtones giving you more time to play or talk to your family and friends. (network operator dependent)

The LG F2400 comes with everything you’d expect in a current entry-level phone, plus a little bit extra. First, the basics — the F200 is a dual band GSM 900/1800 phone, can handle GPRS, can send SMS, MMS and emails, 40-channel polyphonic ringtones, and has a built-in VGA camera (640×480 pixels). The extra bit lies with its Bluetooth connectivity, something that’s still pretty rare for a model in this price range. While the phone doesn’t come with infrared, Bluetooth does allow you to use any Bluetooth headset on the market (the F2400 only comes with a wired hands-free solution) or connect up to another enabled device.

On opening the F2400 the 128 x 160 pixel display springs into action. It occupies most of the top flip section, except for the earpiece holes towards the top of the flip. The bottom flip has the full numerical keypad and soft/special function keys. The keys can be used in any lighting situation with a blue backlight. The keys are sunken into the handset and are very large, easy for those with less-than-perfect eyesight to use. They’re perfect for messaging.

The clamshell form - factor is considered to be fashion solution till now, that is why the phones of such type cost more than their analogues in the traditional design. The manufacturer tried to give maximum of the fashion component to the model C1100. It is interesting that instead of the external display there is a mirror on the top panel. In the middle of it LED is situated. When somebody calls you, the indicator starts to blink green color. The minus of this mirror is rather obvious, it becomes soiled often and there are fingerprints on it. So you should clean the mirror almost every minute.

But with simplicity LG has rediscovered the virtue of a mobile phone being a phone rather than the handset playing host to a gaggle of sundry devices and applications that drain battery power and often fail to live up to their functional promises. The other consideration with the paring down of the body is a reduction in cost and the C1100 is currently offered as a £89.99 price tag to pay-as-you-go customers who so often get lumbered with the mutants of the phone world while the more lucrative contract customers get offered the cream of the techno crop.

- Enriching sound with 16 Polyphonic MIDI technology

Dimensions: Size 82 x 45 x 22.5 mm
Weight: 81.4 g

Price Range:

65,000 colour screen displays images as they were meant to be seen. 128X160 pixel high resolution display. Download pictures and wallpapers from the supplied CD and from the LG Mobile.com website. 16 polyphonic sound allows up to 16 notes to be played simultaneously providing accurate sounds and personalised ringtones that will be easily recognisable. The phone allows you to identify up to 7 caller groups, with up to 20 members for each group, and assign them unique ringtones and icons. This means you can tell whether it’s work or play. It is also possible to customise the phone with ringtones to fit your personality.

The saving in size by losing the camera is balanced by the saving on budget. Curiously, LG seem to have lost the front screen too. The vacant space on the front of the phone is filled with a mirror, containing a naff two-colour blinking service light. The same goes for the Orange LG C1100. While great for adjusting one’s make-up, it looks a little odd. Not to be confused with big brother from LG, the G5400, which has a multi-colour screen in the space instead. Perhaps the C1200 is a budget phone after all.

The internal display screen shows 65,536 different colors and is an STN type that is 128 by 160 pixels in size. This fantastic screen can be used to display websites thanks to the WAP 2.0 browser that enables the user to surf the internet at his or her leisure. As a result, people who own the C1200 are never left out of the loop when it comes to sports scores, weather or potential stock trading opportunities.
